WOW! I have never even seen a couple of those before! That's some sweet stuff! Must be neat to work with those every day! Goes to show you some of the folks back then had some pretty good ideas that have not been improved on!

Goes to show you the inlellagence back in the 19th and early 20th centuries. What happened to these generations from the 60s and later is anyones guess. I feel alot of the blame is on the teachers professors mostly who have been brainwashing our youth since the 50s. This machine was built by Pratt & Whitney for their operations in building aircraft engines, this machine was built In the thirties I would think to make internal gear teeth similar to the planetary gears you may find in the drive wheels of some earth moving equipment today. The table will rotate 360 degrees automatically when set to do so. You can adjust the amout of turn in 15 degree increments. I'm useing it here to put a keyway in a pinion gear. Lot of fun, I always think What kind of people ran this machine? What did they Look like. Who were they? I'm intregued by this stuff.

It really does make you stop and think about what level of intelligence it took to make something like that in the early 20th century! Do you think the educational system is turning out that kind of minds in today's environment? If they are I have yet to see it! Amazing stuff and more amazing is that there is someone that understands and knows how to operate teh pieces of machinery that were built back then. I don't think any of them will have owners manuals on line or the setup procedures on their website!!! LMAO!

First of all when our youth is tide to video screens, how can they know anything. In expectation of raiseing VV's ire, I have no use for todays youth, they are a waste. The parents need to take an interest in there offsprings and the future of our nation and put them in the stright and narrow path to a more usefull trade. Get them interested in the trades that made our country so successful in decades past. Most of the time with this machinary you just take your time and observe the operation of the machine and all of the handles, knobs and such, and after a while it all becomes crystal clear. As long as you have conventional machinist skills, anything can be mastered.

That is exactly the problem! They come out of school and cannot even speak the English language correctly much less acquire the basic set of skills for any kind of a trade. they walk out in the world and expect to start out at a job that pays them twice what their parents are making after 25+ years in their fields! I just do not understand how we could have created such a generation of misfits and freeloaders that expect the gov to take care of them from the cradle to the grave. With this attitude, the grave is going to be a hell of a lot quicker!
