PostSubject: Semi auto or revolver?   Tue May 11, 2010 2:16 pm

I've noticed that we have two forums related to the subject of this post but I decided to post here because I'm a semi auto guy.

The question is, which do you prefer for CC, a semi auto or revolver and why you chose what you did?

For me I only own semi autos. I've never considered a revolver because of capacity. A limit of five rounds isn't practical at all and there's no chance for re loading at all if you're trying to defend yourself.

I CCW semiauto for two reasons.
One is capacity like you said. The other is weight.
A Glock 19 fully loaded is still lighter than either of my revolvers empty. And I don't much care for snubys.

Yah I got one two. You have one, Freedom bought one, I figured something must be right with it. And lo and behold. It is a nice gun. But like Freedom said, I wouldn't want to go much smaller than that.

When you say smaller do you mean:
1. Caliber--you don't want anything smaller than 9mm?
2. Physical dimensions of the gun?

What other calibers do have, if you don't mind me asking?

Well! Guess I'll put my penny's worth in. I've owned a couple of snubbies and own a 642 at the moment. But! I've looked at that new polymer framed Ruger snubbie and think that if they bring that out as a six shooter in .327 Federal magnum, I would have to get me one. I realise that it would be a bit lively in the hand when fired, but think that gun and round would be a good combination.

I'm still scratching my head over polymer revolvers.
I'm sure they work just as well as the polymer semiautos. Just some how it doesn't sound right.
I would like to see and shoot one.

Take a look at one of the new Rugers. They are interesting guns.

I just read an article about this gun and to be truthful I can't imagine that the recoil would anything less than a nuclear bomb going off in your hand. There's nothing to absorb any recoil.

I will look at the range next time I am there to see if they have one of these to rent.
No harm in doing that, try something new now and then.
Renting a pistol is only 10.00 for the hour so it's not that much.
