The Week Before
Christmas Poem

'Twas the week before Christmas, and all through the town,
Not a sign of Baby Jesus, was anywhere to be found.
The people were all busy with Christmas time chores,
Like decorating, and baking, and shopping in stores.

No one sang, "Away in a manger, no crib for a bed."
Instead, they sang of Santa, dressed up in bright red.
Mama watched Martha Stewart, Papa drank from a tap.
As hour upon hour the presents they'd wrap.

Then what from the TV did they suddenly hear?
An ad, which told of a big sale down at Sears.
So away to the mall they all flew like a flash,
Buying some things on credit, and others with cash!

And, as they made their way home from their trip to the mall,
Did they think about Jesus? Oh, no, not at all.

Their lives were so busy with their Christmas time things,
They had no time to remember Christ Jesus, the King.
There were presents to wrap and cookies to bake.
How could they stop and remember the One who died for their sake?

To pray to the Savior, they had no time to stop.
Because they needed more time to "Shop till they drop!"
On Wal-mart! On K-mart! On Target! On Penney's!
On Hallmark! On Zales! A quick lunch at Denny's!
From the big stores downtown to the stores at the mall,
They would dash away, dash away, and visit them all!

And up on the roof, there arose such a clatter,
As grandpa hung icicle lights, using his brand new step ladder.
He hung lights that would flash. He hung lights that would twirl.
Yet, he never once prayed, to Jesus, the Light of the World.

Christ's eyes--how they twinkle!
Christ's Spirit--how merry!
Christ's love--how enormous!
All of our burdens--He'll carry!

So instead of being busy, overworked, and uptight.
Let's put Christ back in Christmas, and enjoy a good night

Absolutely great and very timely! With all else going on teh old saying that we should remember is the one that never fades!!!

JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON!!

JMHO!!

If the preceding message offends you, you obviously don't belong in my country!! That is correct - I said my country!! Love it or leave it!

Now here is one that you do not know!!! I have played the piano all my life and paws was a nickname given to me by some of the other students! They did not have the reach in their hands that I had and they were always jealous! I studied and played Rachmaninoff and McDowell because none of my teacher's other students could reach the spread they wrote in their music. I dropped out of serious classical studying after college and just played for fun but have been toying with the idea of beginning to play seriously once again.HAHAHAH!

My oldest sister obtained a pearl inlay accordian that Lawrence Welk once played. I have it and learned to play it during my teens. It actually has his autograph on it. I have a larger one that is a deeper tone and more of a rhythm than a tenor small one. I need to get both out and play them while I still remember how!!! I also play all of the brass instruments in band and the organ! Played for church for many years! WOW at the things you learn to do! GGG!

That's really cool. You need to exercise those bellows once in a while so they wont dry out. My mother bought me a very exspensive Mussi accordian when I was about 10. I played it for my entire school days. I sold it years ago, couldn't see it not being played. I thought there would be someone out their more deserving of such a fine instrument. I still want to play the guitar. I also have plans for making my own, in accustic and electric.
