PostSubject: Just Could Not Resist!!!   Thu Dec 09, 2010 8:21 pm

Well I had to get a male gift for the Xmas gift exchange so I went to Cabela's this evening after I got everyone taken care of!!! Spent about an hour browsing around and watching the crowd as much as anything! Ran across some 8MM Mausers and then on the other side of the rack, Mosin Nagant!!! There were about a dozen or so out on the rack and most had the bayonets zip tied to the barrel. I thought they deserved at least a little closer inspection! So, I proceeded to pick each one up and through a process of elimination discovered a couple that were in fairly decent shape!! Had one of the guys get me a bore flashlight and lo and behold one of the two had little wear if any on the grooves inside the barrel and it looked pretty darn good!!! I was pretty interested at that point because it was marked $99 and included the bayonet! Then the guy comes back and says you know it includes the ammo pouch and all of the material accessories for the $99! That was the last straw!! I came out of there with one box of ammo, a large plastic bag almost full of I don't know what but there is a lot of cloth ammo bags and other accessories plus the gun and bayonet for a grand total of $125 and change. Showed my TX CHL and walked out in less than five minutes!!! God I love Texas!!! So you ask what did I get for my guy gift? Don't know yet as I didn't find anything!! May have to go back next week to check it out again!!! LMAO!!

UF!! Had you ever thought about getting your FFL? Just a thought. I can't remember exactly but I think my fee to ATF was $100 or so and it took three and a half months for them to schedule my in person interview then another couple of weeks to get the document printed and mailed to me. I can have guns mailed to me from anywhere in the states, mail them to anywhere in the states and it gave me the ability to purchase from many wholesalers! Even pick up a few bucks each month doing transfers from others who order and do not have a FFL! Might want to think about it!!!

Got a gun class (TX Concealed) today and daughter (attorney) is doing use of force section. I may just go back tonight after everyone has qualified and pick p a 7MM bolt action Remington I saw there earlier in the week. Been wanting a 7MM to play with AND keep the Nagant company! I am thinking!!!

Yes I have thought about it but dont know what the priorities are for it. I probably wold need an attorney for consultations for it. Do you know anyone handy in firearms law?

7mm magnum? If it is a mag load then yes I would go for one also. That's a great flat shooting round.

Look it up on their (BATF) website. Their forms and all paperwork are there. Pretty self explanatory and it just takes time and patience. If you have trouble with the paperwork, email me and I will help walk you through it. The FFL is federal and the state has nothing to do with it! There will be a couple of steps that the BATF have to do with locals but they do it, not you! Check it out!

Went back last night after things settled down and darn it!!! Somebody else saw it and bought it before I got back to claim it!!! LMAO!! I will just have to go and camp out there next week waiting for another one to show up!! Things have picked up here a little and it appears there is beginning to be work out there for the ones that really want to work. May have something to do with the unemployment checks getting thinner but that was past time! That means there are still some that are pawning, selling and dumping firearms because they are hard to eat and pay bills with!!! Another one will show up before long!!

I'll look at the site later today. I thought about it for the reason I was going to get started doing some coatings on a couple of my handguns, and if they turn out well, I may want to do a little side business. With that I will need a FFL to legally take someone else's firearm to work on. As far as 7mm, they are pretty common so more will show.
