Is this some new design that does not stovepipe or ftf? what is the advantage for the magazine? I just can't imagine a magazine being that much!!!

I took a few more pics so that you could see, but I think the design of the follower and the feed lips are unique, to me anyway.

It looks like it brings the bullet up more parallel with the chamber.

Yes, the follower has a convex surface instead of a concave one which is what I'm used to seeing.

By the design concept. it looks like it will work by not stove piping like AO wrote. Definetly looks like a good design.

Interesting but still want to know how it performs in the field! Will it feed if wet or dirty? If so, where does stock mag stop feeding in comparison!!! If it was more reliable, feeds when wet and dirty, I might spring for a couple of them for my Kimber every day carry!!!

WOW! That was a whole lot of info on magazines in the 1911's! I think I have so nmmuch info now I am in a state of confusion!! I do know that in the past when I have had magazine problems, I have ordered a new one from teh manufacturer of the gun and that hs solved the problem each and every time!

That has always solved any problems in the past for me and as long as I have that track record, I will probably stick with it. I will try some new things along the way and this one has my curiosity peaked!!

If there is an advantage, I would like to know! If not, I am good with the factory mags!

I'll let you guys know what happens on my next range trip but just remember that the problem I'm trying to solve is the failure of the slide to lock back on my Fusion. Very Happy

If the slide spring is in backwards on some autos this will happen. Or is it possible the wrong spring and or the wrong weight spring is in the slide?

Proper spring and orientation were a few of the first things I investiated. Right now it's got a 18# and it's oriented properly.
Thanks,

If the spring is ruled out, the only other thing is wear on the gun and the magazines. if it does okay some of the time, it is not likely the gun is to blame! I would suspect the magazines very close to the beginning!!! Let us know!!

I don't think the problem is with the mags because I have seven Wilson 47D's and seven Tripps that work 100% in all of my 1911's except the Fusion. The Metalform mags work in all my 1911's including the Fusion so, to me, that means the problem is with the gun.

Of course I could be full of BS so who knows. lol!

I agree with the gun being the problem. All you can do is check the thing from one end to the other and make sure there are no burrs, no nicks or anything loose with the magazine fit. If you can't find it you may have eto take it to the smith!
